Our client required an experienced operations executive to consolidate its site network to a more efficient and costly operating model.

Crucial to the business future plans were the closure and expansion of individual sites, of which this position would be responsible for.

The ideal candidate required experience in dealing with private equity firms, as their short-mid objective was to prepare the business for a PE sale.

As a result, this was an extremely confidential role due to the sensitive nature of such an objective.

Process

Prior to any action being undertaken, we began by producing NDA’s in conjunction with the client, in order to meet confidentiality requirements.

The first stage of our search involved utilising our network of high-calibre candidates to proactively seek out Operations Directors who had end-to-end supply chain and private equity experience.

Another key factor to consider was that the ideal candidate required first-hand experience of consolidating and streamlining a manufacturing footprint.

Following this we undertook a targeted headhunt of the UK and Western Europe, developing a thorough longlist of candidates, screening suitable executive professionals, to produce a shortlist, upon which NDA’s were signed, job descriptions, client name, and further details were released.

The
Candidate

The successful candidate is a seasoned operations professional, who has vast experience of leading all key manufacturing functions and has enjoyed a broad international career with a strong track record in L&A and private equity backed environments.

Crucially, they already had both category and customer knowledge which suited the client well, due to the unique nature of their operating model.

The
Result

Following the candidate’s successful placement, the business was sold with the new private equity owners taking full control of the operation, allowing them to move forward with a stronger and more cost-effective operating structure.

Due to our expertise and good relationship with the client, we have filled several other key leadership positions at executive board level in a number of functions including marketing, procurement, finance, HR, and sales for the new private equity owners.
