MacGregor Black is delighted to partner with an FMCG business in their search for a Commercial Finance Manager. This is a permanent position based in Saone-et-Loire.

We are seeking a Commercial and Finance Manager to oversee financial operations. Reporting to the Commercial Director in the UK, you will manage financial reporting, cash flow, and operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with global objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level support and facilitate communication within the organization.
  • Act as the main liaison for finance matters within the French operations.

Financial Reporting:

  • Supervise financial and management reporting for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop systems to enhance reporting and ensure compliance with local and global requirements.

Commercial Reporting:

  • Establish and maintain commercial reporting structures to inform decision-making.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to support strategic decisions.

Banking and Cash Flow Management:

  • Optimize cash flow efficiency through banking operations management.
  • Monitor forecasts and implement strategies to mitigate risks and maximize liquidity.

Business Planning and Budgeting:

  • Lead the business planning and budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and provide analysis for decision-making.

Costing Processes and Operational Efficiency:

  • Develop costing processes to measure operational efficiency accurately.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and drive efficiency initiatives.

Legal Compliance and Governance:

  • Liaise with legal counsel and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and provide internal guidance.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Develop risk management strategies to safeguard company assets.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to strategic plans for the French division aligned with broader objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities and support initiatives to enhance performance.

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Advanced qualifications such as MBA or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CFA) are desirable
  • Proven experience in in financial management, preferably in a multinational company or within the French market.
  • Experience in managerial or leadership roles is essential, demonstrating the ability to oversee complex financial operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of French financial reporting standards and regulations, including experience in preparing financial statements and management reports.
  • Understanding of French legal and regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to finance and business operations
  • Experience in optimizing cash flow efficiency and implementing risk mitigation strategies is valuable
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor operational performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Ability to implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and streamline processes.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial management software.
  • Fluency in French and English is essential, as the role involves communication with internal and external stakeholders in both languages.
