Finance Manager

MacGregor Black is currently partnered with an award winning beauty brand searching for a commercially astute and transactionally proficient Finance Manager. This is a permanent role with hybrid working opportunities (2 days a week in the office), based in London.

As Finance Manager you will report directly into the CEO whilst taking complete
ownership of the day to day accounting functions, cash-flow management, and commercially focused duties such as budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning. Additionally, it includes business partnering with Sales, Products, Operations teams to enhance operational efficiency. This role is a multi-faceted and absolutely crucial as the business looks to continuously expand globally through multi-channel distribution.


  • Take full responsibility for finance functions, including AP, AR, credit control, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and report findings to the Board
  • Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyse profit and loss statements, margins, and variances
  • Manage cash flow and currency transactions
  • Implement budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare and manage payroll and VAT through a third-party agency
  • Partner with other departments for business and commercial initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with various third parties, including banks, auditors, tax advisors, insurance providers, and pension managers.
  • Oversee financial systems, policies, and processes.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive experience with SAP Business One systems
  • Partially or fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Proficient in working with third-party sales tax and cross-border tax advisers
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of transactional finance
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Willingness to engage hands-on in all areas of the business
  • Experience in a retail or consumer environment is preferred
