Finance Manager

MacGregor Black are partnering with a large FMCG business on the search for a Finance Manager. This is a permanent role based in Hoofddorp, North Holland.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role where you will be responsible for all finance & accounting within the European business.

  • Prepare accounting information based on actual transactions and events, accurately reflecting the financial position, operating results, and cash flows.
  • Ensure that financial and management reporting adheres to local statutory and accounting requirements.
  • Compile and analyse the monthly standard reporting package as per the format and schedule set by our global finance team, ensuring accurate and complete accounting information is provided.
  • Safeguard and accurately value company assets, including cash, inventory, accounts receivable, and fixed assets. Manage cash resources, including cash flows, foreign exchange, banking activities, customer billing, accounts receivable collection and reconciliation, payment batching, and inventory monitoring.
  • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, manage and monitor metrics, track KPIs, and report on time.
  • Collaborate closely with the European and global teams, engaging with the General Manager and senior management on strategy development and implementation. Provide timely and effective financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making and mitigate operational risks.
  • Oversee, monitor, evaluate, and develop management information systems (finance, inventory management, payment, and e-banking systems) to control various operations.
  • Work closely with colleagues from different functions, including product development, sales, marketing, and customer support.
  • Ensure all necessary government reports, returns, taxes, etc., are filed correctly and on time.
  • Coordinate the year-end audit, prepare audit files, and address any management, control, or accounting issues that arise.
  • Comply with the company’s management and finance policies and assist in the development of management policies.

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the sports, fashion, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Proven experience in forecasting and business planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Exceptional organisational and planning capabilities. Must be able to manage projects and time independently.
  • Ability to prioritise, organise, and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic corporate setting.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Experience or background in the sports industry is advantageous.
