MacGregor Black is partnering with a fast-paced consumer business to appoint a Management Accountant into its Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, but also wants to understand the wider commercial picture and have genuine influence across the business.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate management information, providing financial insight and supporting decision-making across the business.

You will be responsible for:

• Producing accurate and timely management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
• Owning balance sheet reconciliations across a range of areas, including more complex balances.
• Producing departmental reporting and partnering with stakeholders to analyse and challenge cost trends.
• Supporting the monthly MI pack with clear analysis and meaningful commentary.
• Supporting budgeting and reforecasting, providing insight into cost movements and variances.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and automation across Finance.
• Supporting and coaching junior members of the team.
• Contributing to ad hoc reporting and wider Finance projects.

About You
You will have proven management accounting experience and be confident working with financial data, analysing trends and constructively challenging stakeholders.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience within management accounting, preferably in retail, FMCG or another fast-paced consumer environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into clear commercial insight.
• Advanced Excel skills. Experience with an ERP system such as Dynamics, SAP, Oracle or NetSuite would be advantageous.
• A proactive, commercially astute and collaborative approach.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The confidence to challenge figures, processes and stakeholders where appropriate.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Part-qualified status and active study towards a recognised accounting qualification such as CIMA or AAT, alongside strong relevant experience.
