Macgregor Black are partnering with a leading food manufacturer on the search for an NPD Food Technologist. This is a permanent role based onsite in Yorkshire.


  • Implementing the NPD and EPD strategy and integrating our business DNA, brand strategy, and current market trends effectively.
  • Execute EPD (Extended Product Development) focused on our core product range, leveraging innovation and emerging technologies to enhance product quality continuously.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers for raw materials and ingredients, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Work towards recipe and nutritional targets, maintaining alignment with our product vision.
  • Aid and support during factory trials, ensuring smooth implementation of new products.
  • Enhance understanding of various raw materials, their functionalities, and application areas.
  • Conduct thorough product testing and evaluation, including sensory analysis, shelf-life assessment, and nutritional analysis.
  • Maintain meticulous records of the product development process, encompassing formulation, specifications, and test outcomes. Generate reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate consistency and benchmarking panels, sharing outcomes with the team to drive improvement.
  • Offer support in adhering to environmental and ethical standards.
  • Design and refine manufacturing processes to facilitate the upscale of new product formulations for commercial production.
  • Participate in and facilitate external customer presentations to showcase our offerings effectively.
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects concurrently, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, operations, and procurement to ensure timely achievement of project milestones.

  • A valid driving license.
