MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a Global Business Supplies company, on the search for European Key Account Manager. This is a permanent role based remotely in Europe.

As the European Account Manager, you will hold full accountability for the management development and maintaining existing customers whilst manage a new business pipeline process and prospect list. Driving engagement to turn a sales lead into a long-term relationship, through tendering or an R.F.Q process for procurement to meet new business development goals and objectives on an annual basis, within the Baltics, Nordics, Benelux, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver territory sales turnover and profit margin targets and objectives in line with territory sales business plan.
  • Retain and defend existing accounts in the face of competitor activity within the territory.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities with new and existing customers through the opportunity pipeline process.
  •  Liaise closely with the sales support structure to implement and develop new customer accounts.
  •  To implement and support all commercial deals with existing and new customers, as instructed by the Sales Director.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly account portfolio sales forecast to identify risks and opportunities against plan and propose and implement any remedial actions required, and log to CRM · Establish and maintain a quarterly sales journey cycle meeting agreed standards of customer call frequency and sales activity, recording this via CRM · Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales activity (input) and sales performance (output) against targets on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Develop sustainable and profitable long-term relationships with customers and manage all aspects of the customer relationship.
  • Establish communication and contacts at all levels within the customer organisation, including the highest levels, and ensure appropriate colleagues are involved in customer contacts.
  • To propose and agree on a joint customer business plan on an annual basis with key customers and to leverage all available support from internal support functions, to ensure the success of these plans.

What are we looking for?
 

  • Ideally from the Office Products/education/paper converting industry or equivalent manufacturing background.
  • Understanding of sales techniques and processes and understanding of the principles of account management and customer relationship management.
  • Required understanding of financial processes relating to account management, including margin management and contribution model management.
  • Sales process and basic account management skills, able to plan and deliver sales turnover and margin targets.
  • Ability to manage and successfully convert opportunities from prospect to closure and implementation.
  • Proven new business winning skills · Sales activity time management and journey planning able to work through structured processes.
