Macgregor Black are partnering with a Premium Consumer Business on the search for an General Manager. This is a permanent role based in Connecticut.

 

As the General Manager, you will be accountable for the growth ambitions for Americas. You will spearhead the next stage of growth for the US business through existing and new channels, including digital landscape, in line with the global strategies for the company. You will have full P&L responsibility for the Americas business, leading the local organisation including sales, marketing, supply chain and finance.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve company objectives in the Americas in alignment with global strategy and overarching goals.
  • Expand the brand presence and increase market share for products.
  • Oversee operational aspects of the commercial office, encompassing Sales and Marketing as well as other support functions either handled internally or through external partners.
  • Foster effective collaboration and transparency between local and global functions, establishing mutual accountability.
  • Cultivate a high-performance organisation, leading in accordance with the brands leadership principles and adhering to global ways of working.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to stay ahead in the industry.
  • Maintain effective use and implementation of CRM systems to enhance consumer and retailers satisfaction, advocacy and loyalty.
  • Explore and develop new sales channels to reach a broader customer base in line with the brands defined repeatable growth models frameworks.
  • In close partnership with Global HR, recruit, train and retain top talent to build a skilled and motivated workforce.

 

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ year experience in GM role or similar position for a branded consumer business.
  • Experience of managing teams across multiple business functions.
  • Strong digital capabilities across .com, retailer.com and marketplaces.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales growth both online and in-store.
  • Experience working within a premium product category.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Flexibility to travel when required across the US.
  • Degree educated ideally with an MBA or associated business education.
