Head of Marketing

MacGregor Black are exclusively partnered with a leading international sports & lifestyle brand on the search for an expert Head of Marketing and seasoned brand-builder. This is a permanent role based in Sweden.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Build and deliver a comprehensive, disruptive, and long-term global brand strategy underpinned by relevant industry expertise, forecasts, and market research
  • Ensure a cohesive roadmap is communicated across all marketing stakeholders, collaborating with internal teams to ensure the brand’s positioning is clearly understood and consistent across all departments and that consumer facing content is optimized for international territories, where appropriate
  • Design our offering and marketing strategy to steer the brand into new markets and customer segments
  • Management of the seasonal marketing budget, including events, content creation, print, in-store, POS, seasonal launch, wholesale partnerships, affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, and other digital partnerships
  • Develop tier 1 wholesale partner strategy, comm, events, content, and SMU support
  • Direct collaboration with eCommerce and DTC, including CRM/email marketing leads
  • Lead the protection and evolution of the brand, whilst recognizing its heritage and core customer base
  • Lead our omnichannel offering, ensuring activations are cross-channel compatible, with carefully considered customer journeys and marcomms tailored to suit customer demographics/psychographics
  • Direct management of a team of 5 marketeers, including mentoring, coaching, and talent development of direct reports
  • Management of agencies and relevant freelancers
  • Present bi-weekly reports to the Marketing Director, including key metrics associated with sales, brand growth, perception, and loyalty, including marketing-related eCommerce and retail metrics

We’re looking For
 

  • Minimum 8 years Marketing experience
  • Minimum 3-4 years management experience
  • Strong brand experience, ideally in sports, lifestyle, or fashion
  • Ability to think outside of the box and not inclined to follow the rest of the industry
  • A focus on consumer-led decision making, with a keen eye for data & detail
  • Evidence of strong brand activations, high levels of brand loyalty, and community building
  • A strong commercial background, taking responsibility for budgets, seasonal planning, and departmental ROI
  • Experience of developing paid and organic brand ambassador programmes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage calendars internally and externally
  • Evidence of building strong industry relationships, including news outlets, wholesale partners, collaborations, agency, and creative partners
  • Proven record of success tailoring campaigns to international markets
  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally
  • A true team player
  • A succession planner
