Sales Director

MacGregor Black are proudly partnering with a market leading consumer goods brand on the search for a Sales Director.  This is a permanent role based in Germany.

As the Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing the global commercial objectives of the business adapted to the local setting, business planning and management of all aspects of sales and distribution strategy and guiding a multi-disciplinary team to achieve success for a market leading brand.
Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute global commercial objectives, adapting the global plan to local retailer and consumers’ needs in order to create local commercial strategies.
  • Business planning and management of all aspects of Sales and Distribution strategy in coordination with other departments as needed (Product Development, Purchasing, Legal, etc.).
  • Launch and implement marketing and sales campaigns to reach agreed targets (defining pricing and margin strategy, discount guidelines, obsolete stock/inventory clearance, etc.).
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities, enhancing key client interactions plus prospecting new ways/channels to accommodate Sales targets and budget.
  • Maintain and develop both existing and new customers through appropriate plans and ethical sales methods.
  • Develop the right assortments by channel to win in the different markets.
  • Liaise with other departments to facilitate all marketing and sales initiatives to guarantee profitable business and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and manage the Sales organization to achieve stated/agreed targets.

Who you are:

  • Proven commercial profile with 10+ years of relevant Sales experience (fashion, sport, consumer goods)
  • Strong experience with wholesale, retail, e-commerce and omni-channel distribution
  • 5+ years of people management
  • Visionary leader strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to an ever changing environment
  • Fluent in both German and English
  • Very open to travel extensively across Germany (and internationally as required) around 50% of working time
